Everybody loves to have a swimming pool in their house. Most of the times, size doesn't matter. Having a big swimming pool sounds good but a small but clean and well-maintained swimming pool is better. Taking care of your swimming pool is easy. You just need time and a bit of effort.
Maintaining the cleanliness of your swimming pool will only need your few hours every week. To do this, here are some ways:
- Check your pool hardware regularly- This is the most important way to secure the cleanliness of your swimming pool. You must check your pool or heat pump, pool filter and filter cartridges regularly for you to know if there is any damage or replacement is needed.
- Keep your pump running- It is recommended that your keep your pool pump running for 6 or more hours every day. It must be done even if there is no one in the pool. Pool pump plays one of the vital roles in your pool system. As it keeps the pool from running, it eliminates small particles from the water which greatly help to avoid algae build-up. Continuous running of water also keeps it clearer.
- Have an eye on your skimmer baskets once a day- Checking your skimmer baskets everyday is one of the things that you must consider in order to maintain your pool's cleanliness. This baskets traps debris and you must remove that debris to keep the good level of the pressure on your pump. Your skimmer pump can greatly affect your pump's performance so be sure that is well-maintained.
- Sanitize your pool- Use chlorine to keep your pool sanitized. It kills the bacteria and other harmful microorganisms in your pool water. Overdosing your pool once a week is recommended. This is called pool shocking. It is done to kill any harmful microbes in your swimming pool. There are two varieties of pool shock, liquid and powder. Be sure to choose the suited one for your pool. You can ask a pool expert's advice in the store where you will buy it.
- Put your pool supplies in one place- Maintaining the cleanliness of your swimming pool requires you to have different kinds of pool supplies like pool cleaners, pool vacuum and other things that you might need in order to keep it clean. These supplies must be placed in one place near your pool. Make sure that it will not be in a place where it will look cluttered to maintain the good look of your pool.
- Clean your pool once a week- It is necessary to have a pool cleaning every week. Take out your pool supplies and use your pool vacuum to sweep out dirt on the bottom part of the pool. To scrub the sides, you can use a brush. Also, use your pool cleaners to clean the whole pool area. It is not enough that your swimming pool is clean, your pool area also needs to look good.
These may all sound like it requires a lot of work but it is really not. In fact, it only takes few of your hours every week. This can also replace your time for exercising. Taking care of your pool will not just help you feel the satisfaction because you yourself did it but it can also help you save a lot of money.
